In this fun book by Tomoko Ohmura we meet over 50 animals as they stand in line, waiting. The creatures start with a little frog at number 50, and grow in size; gecko, mouse, mole, flying squirrel, plenty of animals that we are familiar with and some new ones too, like tapir and armadillo, all the way up to a giraffe and an elephant at number 1. Some of the creatures are growing impatient as they stand in the queue, others are scared of the animal they're standing next to, all the while we wonder, what are they waiting for?
Towards the end of the book is a wonderful double-fold out page, it's a whale ride!
Line Up, Please! provides lots of concepts for children to learn, counting, animals, patience and humour. A wonderful book to take with you on holiday as there are so many different ways that you can read it. This book is suitable for toddlers right up to primary school aged children.
