It seems to be baby shower time of year! With so many customers popping into store to buy baby shower gifts, we're doing lots of gift wrapping (did you know you can also select 'giftwrap' online?). Here's a list of our top 9 gifts, including the beautiful, the practical, and the useful.
Good for: Style
Becoming a mum doesn't mean you need to loose your sense of style, right? We love that The Roundabout is a safe and clean space to change bub's nappy, and it's stylish enough that mum can use it as a purse. With space for a spare nappy, wipes, and a little zip for your cards and phone, parents won't want to leave home without it.
Good for: Practical
These beautiful organic cotton towels are nicer than what you'd normally buy for yourself, making them one of the best baby shower gifts! They're practical, and parents will use them all the time. We find that even though they're baby size, they'll be used way into toddlerhood.
Good for: Beautiful, and useful
We just love these Baby Journals. They're the most simple, stylish, classic, quality baby books that we've seen. Printed on quality paper, with a soft grey linen letter-pressed cover, they're sure to become a family heirloom.
Good for: Practical and cute
$13.90 + $29.90 = $43.80
This is a cute and thoughtful gift. The pacifier (dummy) is made from natural rubber, so it doesn't contain any nasty BPA's, and the little bunny will make it easy to hold and pick up the pacifier anytime, while also doubling as a comforting toy.
Good for: Summer babies
The Legs Out Swaddle has been designed to slightly restrict the sudden arm movement that babies make while they're sleeping, leading to longer, uninterrupted sleeps. The legs are free from the swaddle, helping the baby to stay cool in hot weather and allowing the babies legs and hips to sit in a natural position- so better for their hips than traditional swaddles!
Good for: Practical
From about 6 weeks of age, most babies love lying in a bouncer and seeing what's going on. You might remember this bouncer from your childhood, it seemed like every kiwi household with a baby had one! You can't go wrong with the classics right? We love the simple, practical design, and that it doesn't take up too much room in your house.
Good for: Cute and current
Ever since Suri Cruise was photographed with a Jellycat Bunny, every stylish kiddo needs one. Even if you're not sold on the celebrity factor, you'll be sold when you touch a Jellycat, they're super soft, but with a little bit of weight- making them perfect to cuddle. Jellycat's are available in a variety of sizes and colours.
Good for: Luxury and practical
Most cot sheets are scratchy and pill easily- but not these ones! They're as thick and luxurious as the Egyptian Cotton sheets you have on your own bed. We find that these sheets fit pretty much any cot, so they're an easy, useful gift.
Good for: Young readers
These books tell the sweetest interactive bedtime stories about Little Rabbit. The books are sturdy board books, so they'll stand up to rough treatment from babies and toddlers, and the set makes a thoughtful and useful gift for new babies.
We hope that you've found something suitable on our list. We try to make gift giving super fun and easy, with a good selection and easy to use exchange receipts. Gift wrapping is always free, and if you can't find what you're looking for, why not try one of our Global Baby gift cards?
The great news is that Global Baby now have Laybuy, which means that you can pay for your purchase with six weekly payments, interest free! Laybuy is perfect, because you get your purchase straight away, it's like old fashioned lay by, but way, way better.
See you in store or online soon.
